Theoretical foundation of stamping forming 

Stamping is a kind of metal plastic forming process. It is a processing method of forming material by plastic deformation of material and plastic deformation under external force. Therefore, to master the stamping forming technology, we must have a full understanding of the deformation properties and rules of the material. 

A summary of the plastic deformation of metal 

1. concepts of plastic deformation, plasticity and deformation resistance 

In a metal object, the atom acts a considerable force enough to resist the effect of gravity, so the object will maintain its own shape and size without any other external force. When objects are subjected to external forces, the shape and size of objects will change. This phenomenon is called deformation. The essence of deformation is the change in the distance between atoms inside the object. 

If the external force of a thousand objects is removed, the deformation caused by the external force will disappear, and the object can completely restore its original shape and size, which is called elastic deformation. 

If the external force acting on the object is removed, the object can not completely restore its original shape and size, such a shape is called plastic deformation. 

The so-called plasticity refers to the ability of objects to produce permanent deformation under the action of external forces without destroying their integrity. Plastic unfaithfully is related to the type of material and is related to deformation and deformation conditions. For example, in the usual case, lead is very plastic, but under the action of three - to - tensile stress, it breaks like a brittle material and does not produce any plastic deformation. Deformation resistance refers to the unit deformation force that causes plastic deformation of an object under certain deformation conditions (loading conditions, deformation temperature and speed). Deformation resistance reflects the ability of objects to resist plastic deformation under external forces. 

Plastic and deformation resistance are two different concepts. It is usually said that the plasticity of a certain material is the size of the deformation degree when the force is near the damage, and the deformation resistance reflects the difficult degree of the plastic deformation from the angle of the force. For example, the plastic deformation of austenitic stainless steel is great, which indicates that its plasticity is good, but its deformation resistance is great, which means that it needs large external force to produce plastic deformation.
